The essay that I am examining regarding my works cited and in-text citations following the MLA guidelines is my Project #2 essay. I have a lot of experience with making works cited and using in-text citations in essays, so I believe that I had a good handle on both in this essay. My works cited page included two citations from the anthology book Emerging that we have used throughout the class. The third work that I cited was a speech by David Foster Wallace. I struggled with citing the speech because I had no previous knowledge about how to do it, and how to do it following the MLA guidelines. I believe that the attempt I made to cite it was close to correct if not correct. 

The in-text citations that I made in this essay were standard and formatted correctly to the MLA guidelines. The in-text citations that I made followed quotes and references to the text. I used the author’s last name and the page number where the content could be found as the information in the in-text citation. My citations stayed the same throughout the drafting process and revisions of this essay. I waited towards the latter parts of writing to complete my works cited and inserted the in-text citations while writing my final draft of the essay.
